Photosensitizer aggregation is one of the main problems to restrict the efficiency ofphotodynamic therapy. We use the pore space of mesoporous SiO2 loadingphotosensitizer, and through PEI and PEG modified the multifunctionalphotosensitizer drug carrier system. The system can effectively prevent thephotosensitizer aggregation, and able to escape the lysosome release in the cytoplasm, significantly improve the efficiency of photodynamic therapy.(Biomaterials, 2012,33: 7903-7914)
